AHC CONNECT · Exchange Network

Barter Exchange

Trade what you have for what you need. Goods, food, skills, services, and a helping hand, all shared between Atlanta neighbors and local businesses. It’s free to use.

How it works

1. Post

Create a free account and choose an Exchange Network category. Say what you’re offering or seeking, and what you’ll accept in return.

2. Browse

Filter trades by what people want, how they trade, and whether the offer is still open. Look for the “Open to barter” badge on businesses too.

3. Propose

Click Reply to Listing to message the poster. Agree on what’s being traded, when, and where, before anyone hands anything over.

4. Trade

Meet somewhere public, or trade online. Then set your listing to Trade pending or Traded – closed so others know.

5. Log it

Log your trade in a minute. It helps AHC show the value our community creates, and that helps bring in grants and partners.

Barter Guidelines

By posting or trading, you agree to these guidelines. They keep the network fair, safe and welcoming.

Be honest and fair

  • Describe items and services accurately, including condition, quantity and any flaws.
  • Agree on the full trade (what, how much, when and where) before anything changes hands.
  • Keep your word, show up on time, and update your listing’s status when a trade is pending or done.
  • Treat everyone with respect. No discrimination, harassment or pressure.

Stay safe

  • Meet in a public place during the day, like a library, coffee shop or police station “safe exchange” spot, and consider bringing a friend.
  • Never share bank, card or Social Security numbers. No real trade needs them.
  • Be cautious of anyone who asks for payment or a deposit up front, pushes you to hurry, or wants to move off the site right away.
  • Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian arrange and attend every trade.

Not allowed

Firearms, ammunition or weapons; drugs, cannabis or vape products; alcohol or tobacco; prescription medicine or medical devices; adult content or services; stolen, counterfeit or recalled items; hazardous materials; animals; anything illegal. Licensed services, such as electrical, plumbing, childcare, medical or legal work, may only be offered by people who hold the required license.

Good to know

  • AHC is not part of your trade. We provide the space to connect. We don’t inspect items, guarantee services or settle disputes, and we aren’t responsible for any trade. See our Directory & Resource Disclaimer.
  • Taxes: the IRS generally treats the fair market value of goods and services received through bartering as income, especially for businesses. Ask a tax professional how this applies to you.
  • Report a problem: use Report Listing on any listing, or email atlhealingcommunity@gmail.com. AHC may remove listings or accounts that break these guidelines.
