& We Neighbor x Boys and Girls Club Garden Restoration Project
Youth friendly Yes
& We Neighbor has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta to restore their garden sites. The Whitehead Boys and Girls Club is our primary site. Volunteers will help break down old wood beds, clear soil, mulch, and debris, clear the shed and greenhouse, and help organize the new metal beds. We will provide all tools and gear needed for safety and maintenance of the garden. When completed, youth at the club will engage in a nature-based literacy program we will facilitate to support literacy and socio-emotional development, skill building, sensory exploration, curiosity, and mental health. Volunteers do not have to be on site each day. We will be on site Monday-Thursday, November 9-12th between 11am-3pm.
